Bedtime Prayer

A Bedtime Prayer for Grief

Missing someone tonight doesn't mean you're not healing — it means you loved deeply.

God, the missing never stops. It just changes shape. I bring this grief to You tonight because it's too heavy for me alone. Hold the memories with me. Comfort the ache that time hasn't touched. Help me believe that love doesn't end — it just changes address.

Grief is love with nowhere to go — but God holds every drop of it. Rest now. Amen.

When to pray this

Grief does not move in a straight line and it does not keep to a schedule. It ambushes you in grocery stores months after everyone else has moved on. There is no version of this prayer that makes it faster; it only asks you not to carry it alone.
