Bedtime Prayer

A Bedtime Prayer for Fear

The fear keeping you up tonight is a liar — and it's time to tell it so.

God, fear has crawled into my bed tonight and it's whispering worst-case scenarios. Silence every lie. Replace dread with trust. You have not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. I reject the fear and I receive Your truth instead.

Fear loses its power the moment you remember whose child you are. Sleep in peace. Amen.

When to pray this

Fear narrows everything. It shrinks your options down to the worst one and then insists that is the realistic view. Naming the specific fear out loud — not fear in general, the actual one — is most of what this prayer is for.
