A Morning Prayer for Addiction
One more day clean — or one more chance to start. Either way, God is here for it.
God, today is either a continuation of freedom or a fresh start from failure. Either way, I need You. Fill the void that substances and behaviors have been filling. Be the satisfaction my soul craves. One day at a time, one hour at a time, one decision at a time. With You.
Freedom isn't one big moment — it's a thousand small choices. Make the next right one today. Amen.
When to pray this
Craving rarely announces itself as a decision. It shows up as a small permission you have already half-given yourself. Praying at that moment does something practical: it puts words and a witness between the urge and the act. Recovery is also work that happens with people — a sponsor, a group, a counselor — and prayer belongs alongside that help, not instead of it.
