You don't have to figure it all out before breakfast — just take the next step.
God, I'm standing at a crossroads and both directions look unclear. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones so obviously that I can't miss it. Give me wisdom that cuts through the confusion. I don't need the whole map — just the next turn.
You only need the next step, not the whole staircase — and He's already lighting it. Amen.
When to pray this
Most of the time the choice is not between an obviously right path and an obviously wrong one. It is between two reasonable options with incomplete information. Ask for the next step rather than the whole map — that is usually what gets given.
